Quote of the week: "I am a smart person, I just do stupid things."
The next time you are about to fall in love, say that to yourself. About to walk out of a lecturer's office? Say it. Want to spend your last card on cake? or pick up a scorpion. Say it,
I do it all the time. I spent my last card on cake and trekked all the way home. When my friends ask me why, what do I tell them? "Nahh, it's cool. I'm a smart person, I just do stupid things."
This weekend was laundry, washing, cleaning, and all that work I used to cry not to do as a child. Now I do them, only this time, I don’t get extra meat for it (oh chim, I miss being a useless child).
So, before I saw the scorpion in my clothes, I was playing "Last Week Was Friday podcast" in the background (I don't recommend you listen to this if you are sensitive about some kind of jokes). But it is a podcast with 4 dudes talking about their lives and their growth in the business world, and it's funny as heck. So, David, one of the hosts, brought up a topic about corometer. I was laughing my way into a scorpion bite I did not know. In my head, I’m being productive.
I had laid out to listen to The Sleepy Bookshelf podcast while washing my dirty plates after. Don't ask me why I have dirty plates and clothes to wash. Just like some of you, I am a smart person, I just do stupid things.
And then just before my hands would reach the bottom of the clothes where the evil scorpion was, my phone rang. Guess who called? Well, you can’t guess; you are reading this.
It was Pearl. She just finished listening to the Founder’s podcast by David Senra, which talked about Ivar Kreuger, The Financial Genius Behind a Century of Wall Street Scandals. And she wanted me to see what she wrote about it.
Omo, as she was talking, I just used my corner-corner eyes to look left. That’s how I saw one scorpion like that looking at me, ready to bite or sting me (whatever it is they do). I told Pearl, wait, and you won’t guess what I tried to do next.
Well, I told you from the start, "I am a smart person, I just do stupid things."
I ended the call with Pearl and tried to pick up the living scorpion. You should know how that ended. Not well, not well at all!
One thing I learned is that scorpions don’t like getting picked up by people they want to sting.
Thank you for reading.
P.S. Sell your father's land today, use the money, and play 2 odds. You are a smart person, remember? You just do what…?
How on earth can it be that with just a mic you can say the most interesting shit there is and still people won't listen to your podcast.
To answer this question I'll sing a song: if you ask me... nah who I go ask...
